01. Attendance & Weekly Lessons
Consistency, momentum, timing... these are the attributes that make for great musicians!
Attendance
Lessons at Danes Music take place weekly at your scheduled half-hour time slot. While lessons may be rescheduled if the instructor and students' schedules allow for it, students are paying to reserve their time slot. We ask that you choose a time slot that best works with your schedule, and in the event you needs to reschedule, provide your instructor with as much advanced notice as possible in order to accomodate.
Cancellations
As a good rule of thumb, cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. We understand that emergencies and unexpected events happen, just reach out and communicate with your instructor as soon as possible to avoid a $15 late-notice charge or a missed lesson. Any lessons missed with no notice are non-refundable and will not be rescheduled, so be sure to communicate with your instructor, even if it is late!
Punctuality
To accomodate all students, lessons start and end right at their scheduled times. We suggest that students arrive about 5 minutes before their lesson. Students can relax and prepare for their lesson in the waiting room if there is another lesson wrapping up. If a student is late, that time is unfortunately lost. In the rare event that the instructor is running over time with a student, that time will be added to the end of the lesson.
02. Billing & Tuition
Professional guitar instruction with multiple convenient ways to handle billing.
Monthly Pre-Pay [Recommended: $25/lesson]
Monthly pre-pay tuition is charged on the 1st of each month. This option secures your specific time slot in the studio for the month ahead and you receive our most cost effective lesson rate.
Pay-As-You-Go [$30/lesson]
Tuition can also be paid on a per-lesson basis before the lesson begins via cash or charge (+$5 per lesson). Note: This does not guarantee you will have the same time slot every week in the studio. In the event that a monthly pre-pay or trial student signs up for your time slot, your instructor will reach out to schedule a new time.
Payment Methods
Danes Music accepts Venmo, Zelle, and automated billing options for your convenience. Cash payments can also be made. Invoices and receipts can be shared via email or provided in person. If you have any questions about billing, speak with your instructor to coordinate payment.
03. Required Materials
Gear and Accessories
To maximize our time, students should arrive ready to play to every lesson. Here are the materials you should bring to a typical lesson:
- Instrument: An acoustic or electric guitar in good working order.
- Standard Kit: A gig bag or case to protect your instrument, a digital tuner, and a few guitar picks.
- Music Folder: A folder helps to keep track of notes, music sheets, and exercises.
Frequently Asked Questions
No you don't! For the Trial Lesson, we can provide a studio guitar for you to use. However, to continue with weekly lessons, you must have an instrument at home for consistent practice.
We recommend parents consider putting their kids in lessons at ages 7 and up. Success at younger ages depends on hand size, dexterity, and the ability to focus for a 30-minute window.

Absolutely, no commitment. The trial is a one-time opportunity to see if our styles mesh. No contracts, no pressure. If you love it (and most do!), we'll talk about a weekly slot. If you're not sure or can't commit to the weekly time slot, no problem! Just remember, the Trial Lesson is only available one time per student.
Quality over quantity. We recommend 15-20 minutes of focused practice at least 5 days a week. We track practice patterns via the student notebook to ensure progress.
